Laser Engraved Cutting Boards and More!
My Top Goose, Jenny, and I have learned so much over the last year about starting a new business, getting traffic to our websites and creating quality items. This article serves to shamelessly plug our laser engraved cutting boards along with some other laser engraved products. Hopefully you will see something you like and possibly make a purchase. But, if you’d just like to learn a little bit about the process and the tools we use to make our products so you can start making some of your own, that’s great too!
The Wood Products
Laser engraved cutting boards are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the products we can make, but they are a great example. They can be used for their intended purpose, as charcuterie boards, or solely for display. It all depends on your needs and the design.
While we have several premade options, we do offer full custom work as well. On top of that, our designs can be applied to nearly anything including stainless steel laser engraved tumblers, slate coasters and boards, recipe boards and many more laser engraved products.
Do you have a hand written recipe or note from a loved one you would like preserved in a unique way? We can do that as well!
Our offerings continue to expand and I hope to include glass soon, too.
Other Products
Here are just a few more examples of the amazing products we can create. The only limit is your imagination.
I’ve been really impressed at how well the slate coasters have come out. The one pictured here was my first attempt, and we’ve only gotten better since then, with more custom options available by the day.
Let us know if there is anything we can create for you. I really enjoy the challenge of making new things and am happy to try more and more difficult things while creating the perfect product for you.
So how do we make them?
I promised this article wouldn’t just be a sales pitch and I aim to deliver. I’ve really enjoyed learning the ins and outs of laser engraving and continue to learn more each time I try something new.
I am currently using the Roly LaserMATIC10 Laser Engraver for all of my work and would highly recommend either of their options to anyone. You can read my full review of them here.
A less expensive option is the ATOMSTACK A5 Pro Laser Engraver that I think is a solid option, and yes, I reviewed it as well, so feel free to take a look here.
The process is similar for most materials and getting the laser power and speed settings right takes a little bit of trial and error. You can start with a simple image or design your own. The software I use, LightBurn, has some simple image creation tools included. If that doesn’t get you what you need, I use the free image editing software GIMP. It’s very similar to the biggest name brand option, but I like the price a lot better!
Once you have a design, its just a matter of aligning the material with the laser and hitting go. Watching the laser work is always a treat, so if you’re interested in creating some really cool items, I highly recommend it.
Final Thoughts
Laser engraved cutting boards, right? Such a way to start, but there are so many more options for what to do with a laser engraver, and we’re having a blast with all of them. I never pictured myself as the artsy type, but I have always been a hands on learner and doer, so I’ve really enjoyed the challenge.
I’m always looking for new challenges, so if you can think of anything you would like to see, no matter how crazy or weird, just let me know and we’ll see what we can do.
