Sager 2023 NP7881E Gaming Laptop
If you’re looking for a no nonsense, high powered, big screen laptop, the Sager 2023 NP7881E Gaming Laptop should be near the top of your list. With its 13th Gen Intel processor, 64GB RAM, RTX4070, and 2TB storage, this laptop is a force to be reckoned with. The classic design isn’t as flashy as some of the other laptops on the market, but I prefer it that way. And, I like to believe the money Sager saves by keeping the flashiness down goes in to their components.

Impressions
The Sager 2023 NP7881E Gaming Laptop is one of the most plain looking gaming laptops on the market, but as I’ve mentioned, I look at that as a positive attribute. So many laptops are so loaded with RGB keyboards, chassis, and whatever else that they take away from the main attraction: High powered gaming in a small package.
The keyboard is backlit with a single zone and 15 colors to choose from. This is a great feature for gaming in a dimly lit room, but can also be turned off when not needed. And, the larger chassis allows for a full keyboard with number pad, a must for certain games.
The large 17.3 144Hz display is quick and sharp enough to handle all of the latest games with crisp and clear renderings. Combined with one of the best mobile graphics cards on the market today, the GeForce RTX 4070, the performance rivals all of its competitors, as well as some midrange gaming desktops.
Final Thoughts
Most of my gaming is done on a desktop PC these days, but gaming laptops keep a special place in my heart. My first one was a Sager, bought nearly 15 years ago, and still functions perfectly. I upgraded to an SSD for storage a few years ago and it boots up just as well as a new machine. It certainly won’t play today’s newest and most demanding titles, and I don’t ask it to, but the fact that it has lasted so long and has so many great memories for me only proves that a quality gaming laptop can be a great investment, especially if you have space constraints or need portability.
All that being said, $2000 is a lot of money to spend on a gaming laptop, but if its in your budget, the Sager 2023 NP7881E Gaming Laptop is an excellent choice.
And finally, I know a lot of people are downsizing these days, some of whom have even taken up roots and decided to travel the country by RV. A good friend of mine and his wife are one such couple. They are still learning how to live in such a small place and a solid laptop is a necessity for them as they record the adventure in their new blog. Check them out at crosscountrycoyles.com!
